More than 3,000 people have been killed in violence during the past few months, raising fears Iraq could see a new round of widespread sectarian bloodshed similar to that which brought the country to the edge of civil war in 2006 and 2007.

She has long since put behind her the rather public humiliation of her split from the film director Joe Wright, who ended their relationship in 2008 just as they were planning to wed. She even mentions at one point how much she loves attending weddings: “I find them so unbelievably moving, probably because I’ve never had one.” So I can’t help asking what’s stopping her having a wedding of her own.
